ANALISIS DEIKSIS PADA LAGU TOMMY RICHMAN DALAM ALBUM COYOTE

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify, analyze, and calculate the frequency of occurrence of each type of deictic expression in the lyrics of Tommy Richman's songs in the Coyote album. In this study, the author used a qualitative descriptive method. The theory used by the author to analyze the Coyote album is Yule's (2006) theory. Deixis consists of five types, namely, persona deixis, place deixis, time deixis, social deixis, and discourse deixis. Based on the analysis results, it was found that persona deictic elements accounted for 11 data points or 31.3%, place deixis elements accounted for 5 data points or 14.9%, time deixis elements accounted for 5 data points or 14.9%, social deixis elements accounted for 7 data points or 20%, and discourse deixis elements accounted for 7 data points or 20%. With these results, the most frequently occurring type of deixis in Tommy Richman's song lyrics in the Coyote album is persona deixis.
